Gaining Reputation:
How you gain reputation with a faction will depend on which faction it is. See the faction window for details about what causes reputation gains and losses with a specific faction.
For most factions:
Kill their enemies: Killing NPCs or drones belonging to that faction's competitors or enemies will increase your reputation.
Kill predators in their territory: Some factions will appreciate you thinning the population of hostile wildlife within their faction territory on planets.
Complete missions: Missions for a faction can give reputation.
Complete trader missions: Trader missions that are required to unlock a factory trader will give reputation with the faction that owns the factory. Regular trader missions might not give reputation.
Turn in insignias: Some factions accept bandit and raider insignias at their bounty offices. See Combat - Insignias and Bounty Hunting.
Turn in undelivered cargo: In your travels you may find undelivered cargo as loot. Turning these in at a GIN Console in a trading station will reward you with reputation.
Complete sites: Completing combat, mining, or exploration sites can reward you with reputation with the faction that you helped.
Complete mining contracts: Completing a mining contract will reward you with reputation for the faction assigned the contract.
Other: Sometimes you may find unique items or other ways of gaining the trust of a faction.
