Turret Firing Angles:

Turrets require a clear line of sight to their target.

Any block in the way can obstruct their line of sight, preventing them from attacking a target.

Turrets also have a maximum and minimum angle they can aim up and down.
The angle varies by the physical turret model.
It is up to you to position your turrets and ship so that they can fire on your enemies.

For most turrets they can aim slightly below and decently above like in this example.
(Angles NOT accurate, just used as a general representation)

For some turret designs they cannot aim down but they can aim straight up like in this example.
